About Barbara

Dr. Barbara Reynolds-Hutchinson, Ph.D., A.M.C., AusAPT, AFG, AFCC.

I strongly believe in the power of people to transform and enrich their lives in order to live with passion, purpose and joy.  Sometimes we need another to accompany us in order to clarify directions or develop needed skills.  This underpins all my work as the principal of Reynolds-Hutchinson and Associates.

As an Authorised Marriage Celebrant I passionately believe in the power of good ceremony to mark important moments in our lives both as individuals and as a society. Over the years I have wholeheartedly worked with people, organisations and communities to ensure these moments are as special as they can be. These precious moments only come around once in a lifetime and I am dedicated to providing the best ceremony you could ever wish for.

I have been an Authorised Marriage Celebrant for many years. I am based in Brisbane, Australia, though I do perform ceremonies outside of Brisbane when requested - subject to my availability.

All my professional life I have worked with individuals and groups from a wide sector of the community both in Australia and Europe.

In individual sessions I offer professional mentoring, spiritual direction, personal development, and Feldenkrais® lessons.

Over many years I have worked with groups and organisations in the public, private and service sectors.  The main focus of this work is to help people develop good interpersonal communication skills particularly in times of change or when morale has suffered.

I am accredited to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator®

I hold a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Queensland and am trained in psychology, theology, and group facilitation. I am also a trained Feldenkrais® teacher. I bring all these skills and experience to a collaborative approach in planning ceremonies, in individual meetings and group facilitation.

I am a member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants, the Australian Association of Psychological Type and the Australian Feldenkrais Guild.

I have lectured at tertiary level and was appointed by the University of Queensland to the post of Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Science, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
